About Me
I am a teacher for the Lakeside Union School District. I have worked as a teacher at Riverview Elementary School for the past seven years. Riverview Elementary School is a language academy and a one-way immersion program. Our curriculum is infused with essential 21st century skills, including world language instruction, technology, critical thinking and creativity. Before working at Riverview Elementary School, I taught at Carmela Elementary School in the South Whittier School District for nine years. Earlier this year, I was assigned to be the project director for IDEAS 2.0, a math, science and technology grant that the district was recently awarded. I will be working in this capacity for the next three years.
After graduating from High School in Whittier, California, I enrolled in college and majored in Business Administration. A few years after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree, I enrolled at the University of La Verne to obtain a multiple subject BCLAD credential.
I was born in San Salvador, El Salvador. I have been married fourteen years to a very wonderful husband. I have a younger brother, two nieces and a nephew. Most of my family lives in the L.A. area.
In my free time I enjoy cooking, traveling, reading, snowboarding, running, swimming, and just enjoying hanging out with friends and family.
